The report from the 3rd ESA Carbon Science Cluster Meeting is now available at: 3rd Carbon Science Cluster meeting report - eo science for society, summarizing discussions and outcomes from a virtual gathering of about 70 experts from 38 different projects across ESA, Horizon Europe, ESA CCI, Open Calls, and Living Planet Fellowship activities.
The report and meeting highlights:
· Status and results of ESA’s supported activities in Terrestrial Carbon Research, and potential links to other clusters.
· Introduction to the EC-ESA Earth System Science Initiative (ESSI), strengthening collaboration between ESA and the European Commission.
· Identification of scientific gaps, collaboration opportunities, and priorities for ESA’s Carbon Science Plan 2026-2028
· Discussion and identification of topics to be covered by the 5th Carbon from Space workshop.
· Summaries of 8 sessions of the meeting with recommendations associated to them.
· Updated list of projects associated with the ESA Carbon Science Cluster.
· Summaries of the outcomes of the Global Reconciliation Challenge session from LPS 2025 (Annex 3 to the report).
